Description: Full of tradition, the Toro D.O. is a wine region in the heart of Castilla y León, in the province of Zamora. The D.O. is next to Rueda and not too far from Ribera and Rioja. It is one of the best kept secrets of Spain. Wines have a long history in this region and date back to Roman times. In the Middle Ages the wines had royal privileges, allowing them to be sold exclusively in certain towns and cities. It is even said that Christopher Columbus took Toro wine with him on his expeditions to America. Toro obtained its D.O. status in 1987.

Food that goes well with this wine: It pairs perfectly with any hearty meat-based dish and strong starters.

Technical Information:

After a selected manual harvest in the field and in the winery, these small, perfectly ripened berries are processed using carefully designed protocols so that they become the best possible wine of the year. Malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels. The result is pure ‘harmony’.
