Lamin is a red wine crafted by Bodega Sommos in the D.O. Calatayud region. At Bodega Sommos, the philosophy is to embrace winemaking as a way of life, focusing on the revival of ancient vineyards of their "Vieja Garnacha." This approach is part of a dedicated effort to preserve a nearly lost heritage.
VINEYARD
This vineyard consists of a parcel selection of vines grown on steep slopes. The soils are exclusively grey slate. The average altitude of these vineyards is 900 meters, and they are over 60 years old, yielding less than 1 kg of grapes per vine. These characteristics make it a unique, endangered vineyard. Unique "terroirs" that will offer the true essence of our old Garnacha. HARVEST The grapes are hand-harvested in 400 kg bins. All the grapes are processed on selection tables. PRODUCTION The wine is made using traditional methods. Fermentation occurs at 28ºC with temperature control. Maceration takes place over 2 weeks, followed by bleeding and gentle pressing. AGING 15% of the wine is aged for 36 months in clay jars, and the remaining 85% spends 36 months in French oak barrels.
Food that goes well with this wine: red meats and roasts. It goes well with cured cheeses.
