Matarromera Crianza is a red wine from Ribera del Duero that has become a cult favorite. Its first vintage, 1994, won the title of Best Wine in the World in an international competition by the International Organization of Wine in Spain (OIVE). Since then, this 100% Tempranillo has been one of the hallmarks of Matarromera.
This wine originates from vineyards situated near the Duero River within the Ribera del Duero DO, known for producing exceptional Tempranillo grapes, also referred to as Tinta del Pais. These vineyards are located in Olivares and Valbuena de Duero, in Valladolid, an area renowned as one of the most ideal for vine cultivation and winemaking in the Ribera del Duero region.
Soil: clay, sand and limestone
Aging: 14 months in a barrel and 10 months in a bottle.
Food that goes well with this wine: In addition to the cheese and Iberian ham, we recommend any type of meat, both white and red. It is also perfect for pasta or rice dishes.
